Meet Clay

Born and raised in South Carolina, Clay spent his summers vacationing in the Lowcountry. Those summer vacations led him to attend and graduate from the College of Charleston with a business and accounting degree. During college, Clay was a licensed tour guide for the City of Charleston which provided him with unique knowledge of the history of Charleston. After college, Clay completed a 25-year career in law enforcement. He started as a patrolman for the City of Charleston Police Department and concluded his local law enforcement career as a detective on the FBI’s Violent Crime Task Force. His experience on the task force led Clay to pursue employment in federal law enforcement with the FBI as a special agent. In 2002, Clay joined the FBI and at the conclusion of his training was first assigned to the Oklahoma City Office for 10 years. In 2012, he was promoted to the supervisory special agent and relocated to Washington, DC for two years. Clay returned home to the Lowcountry in 2014 and retired from the FBI in May 2022.

After retiring from the FBI, Clay decided to pursue a career in real estate. Some of Clay’s passions include fishing in the creeks of the Lowcountry, shucking oysters, and preparing barbeque for friends and family. Clay is eager to show you all what coastal living has to offer. Whether you are moving to the area from across the country or work has you leaving, Clay will be there to guide you through the process.
