Smythe Park extends the same contiguity to some of Daniel Island’s best amenities, including an 11-acre lake, walking trails, and scenic offshoots perfect for picnics on temperate spring and fall weekends. Pierce Park Pool and Pavilion are within very easy access to this neighborhood, but Smythe Lake is the gem of this location. From morning exercise groups to kids fishing and playing, this is an area always full of activity. One of the corners of this area is occupied by the ever-popular Pirate Park which has a pirate ship and lighthouse incorporated into one of the island’s best playgrounds. Smythe Lake hosts the annual 4th of July fireworks display and has been the site of several symphony and shag band performances where residents sit along the grassy banks of the lake and enjoy picnics and dancing.
